Baxi Platinum Fault Codes
The Baxi Platinum is the premium tier of the Duo-tec platform — the same proven combi underneath, upgraded components and Baxi's longest warranties on top (up to 10 years registered in its era). Diagnostically it speaks identical E-code: E119 pressure, E133 ignition/gas, E110 overheat and the rest of the familiar set. For an owner the Platinum's distinguishing fact is the warranty. Anything beyond the homeowner basics — pressure top-ups, condensate thawing — should route through Baxi's warranty line while cover lasts, and the annual service that keeps the warranty valid is the same service that prevents most of these codes appearing at all. Where Platinum fault codes appear
The Platinum shows E-prefixed fault codes on its front display in place of the temperature reading, flashing on lockout. Note the exact number before resetting — and if the boiler is under warranty, before anyone opens the case, since the code is what Baxi's support line will ask for.
Resetting a Baxi Platinum
Press or turn the reset control and hold briefly; the boiler clears and retries. E119 wants re-pressurising to 1–1.5 bar first. On an in-warranty Platinum, a returning code means calling Baxi rather than paying an independent — keep the service record current, as that is the condition of cover.
Common Platinum problems
The Platinum's fault statistics track the Duo-tec's — E119, E133, circulation and overheat codes — thinned by the better components and, frankly, by the better-maintained homes premium boilers tend to live in. Condensate freezing remains the great equaliser in winter: routing, insulation and the warm-water thaw apply to a Platinum exactly as to any other condensing boiler.
