Ariston 209
Ariston fault code 209 is a safety lockout triggered when the boiler's processor detects that the hot water storage cylinder has reached an unsafe temperature. As part of Ariston's 200-series codes — which all relate to the domestic hot water (sanitary) circuit — code 209 tells you that the cylinder has overheated and the boiler has shut itself down to prevent damage or danger. This is classed as a non-volatile fault, meaning it will not clear on its own and requires investigation before it is safe to reset and resume normal operation.
