What does the Nibe 52 fault code mean?
Alarm 52 means the built-in safety thermostat (temperature limiter) protecting the immersion heater has detected excessively high temperatures and tripped, cutting out the immersion heater to prevent damage. The unit switches to a reduced spring/autumn operating mode and any automatic operations tied to the immersion heater are disabled until the limiter is manually reset. If the internal or system circulation pump is failing — running slowly, seized, or operating intermittently — flow past the immersion heater may be too low even when pressure and pipework are correct.
- Temperature limiter component failure Rare
Occasionally the limiter itself becomes faulty and trips at a lower temperature than its rated threshold, or the wiring connection between the immersion heater card (AA1) and the base card (AA2) becomes loose. In this case the limiter cannot be reset even after temperatures have dropped, and the component will need replacing.
How to fix it
