What does the Viessmann 1F fault code mean?

The F1 fault code on Viessmann boilers — sometimes displayed as '1F' depending on the control panel orientation or model variant — signals that the boiler's flue gas temperature has climbed beyond its safe operating limit.   1. Let the boiler cool down before doing anything else DIY safe

    An F1 lockout means the boiler has detected overheating. Give the system at least 10–15 minutes to cool before attempting any checks or a reset. Acting on a hot system can produce misleading pressure readings and increases personal risk.

    Look at the pressure gauge on the boiler front panel. It should read between 1.0 and 1.5 bar. If it reads below 1.0 bar, low pressure is very likely the cause of your F1 fault.
